What it feels like?

Echolands feels like a cross between Dixit and A Fake Artist Goes to New York, but through the lens of a shared story. Like in Telestrations, there’s laughter and tension as players try to keep things consistent — but here, the tension comes from memory and bluffing, not drawing. It’s light and fast like Spyfall, with that same thrill of being caught or catching someone else. Above all, it feels like a collaborative mystery where everyone’s pretending they didn’t bend the truth.

How to play

Shuffle the Whisper Cards. Randomly choose an Echo Master; others are Echo Casters. Each player gets 5 Echo Tokens. The Echo Master draws a Whisper Card and starts the story using that word in 1–2 sentences. 

 Players take turns clockwise. On your turn, repeat the full story but secretly change one detail, then draw a new Whisper Card and add a sentence using that word. Start the 60-second timer after drawing. After each turn, the Echo Master may issue a Distortion Challenge:

If they guess the changed detail correctly, the Caster loses a token.
If they’re wrong, the Echo Master loses a token.

The game ends when any player loses all tokens or the Whisper deck runs out. Victory:
If the Echo Master has the most tokens, they win. Otherwise, the Echo Caster with the most tokens wins. In a tie, players vote for the most creative final sentence.
